atlanta cheap eats

My first 3BB quest landed me at Queen of Sheba, Ethiopian restaurant, for a blog-worthy nosh sesh. Hidden on the backside of the Briarcliff Station, the unsuspecting store front gave little way to the experience behind the glass door.
Being an ethnic foodie lover, I knew finding a good Ethiopian joint in Atlanta was a must. I was in a hurry and ready to hone in on the cheapie menu favorites which were delightfully pointed out to me by my very warm waitress whose disposition was a perfect match for the funky twist on the traditional ambiance about the place.
I glanced over my shoulder at an elderly gentleman who was feasting on the biggest plate of food I've ever seen. (see special combo pic above. side note: photos do not do the enormousity of these plates justice) Had I not been in a hurry I would have gladly grazed for hours over that plate. Instead I went with Tikel Gomen: cabbage, potato and carrot simmered in mild sauce with garlic, ginger, onion and green chilies. All entrees are served with Injera, a spongy pancake-like traditional bread. Extremely comforting soul food.
However, it was my Sambussa appetizer that knocked it out of the park, delivering a true bang for buck. Read my first 3BB review featuring QOS's Sambussa here.
