chronicle-what?!-cles of LA

Many apologies for the brief hiatus...i was off on the left coast frolicking around tinsel-town, my old stomping ground. Now I know we deliver the Atlanta deets but i figured I'd go ahead and rehash my trip to LA and fill you in on some of my favorite spots out in LA-LA land. Just in case you ever happen to saunter over that way.

Palm tree-lined Sunset Blvd.

Stuffed French Toast at Swingers, retro motel coffee shop turned Melrose diner.

Santee Alley = Canal Street on steroids

Saint Felix off of Santa Monica Blvd. Goat Cheese Gratin aka heaven in a little white box.

Cuban tacos and sweet potato fries rounded out our happy hour meal, all washed down with some fantastic sangria, some great service (shout-out to the amazing staff at Saint Felix!)

Parmesan grilled cheese "french fries" at The Grilled Cheese Invitational

"Scotch on the rocks" from the Griddle Cafe - coconut, pecan, oat and butterscotch chip filled hotcakes. Big enough to split with 3 other people.

Fried Chicken Skewers from the Happy Ending Bar

My hostess with the mostess and dear friend Jess was my partner in crime during my LA-scapades. Other notable a-vent-ures include a Facebook-centric comedy sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Hollywood, tom foolery with Sara, Brad, Kenny, Vallone, and Mikey, Weho Abbey fun, pink lemonade froyo, Promenade strolls, sample sales, Venice Beach, In-and-Out Burger in the hatub, just to name a few.

I also spent Friday and Saturday night at City Garage supporting Jess as she shined in two Moliere adapted theatrical comedies, The Bourgeois Gentilhomme and as the lead of Agnes in The School for Wives. One of the best things you can do as a LA visitor is check out a play and catch a comedy show. The city serves up some of the best performances at an absolute steal, bearing in mind you could pay upwardly triple the amount in other cities to get a similar caliber performance. City Garage is a real treat and I recommend the Santa Monica-based theatre company to anyone traversing to the left coast. Thanks to all of my LA homies for a memorable and fantastic week! Besos.
