What the dil? Martini's & IMAX Salsa Night at Fernbank Museum

Where do I go? Fernbank Museum of Natural History (767 Clifton Road, N.E. Atlanta, GA 30307)

When do I show up? Friday, 5:30 - 10 PM

What's it gonna cost me? Entrance fee = $15 per adult. Salsa lessons = free. Cash bar for martinis, wine & more. Chef-prepared entrees and apps available for purchase.

Why should I bother? Shake what your momma gave you to the vibrations of the Serenata Band. Have two left feet? Salsambo Dance Studio will provide FREE dance lessons. June Martinis & IMAX® films include Dinosaurs Alive!, Under the Sea and special screenings of Galapagos (Fridays at 8 and 10 p.m. only). Special Mambo-licious martinis will also be available for purchase.



What the dil? SunTrust Concerts in the Garden featuring Steve Earle with special guest Joe Pug

Where do I go? Atlanta Botanical Garden (1345 Piedmont Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30309)

When do I show up? Friday, 8 PM

What's it gonna cost me? 35 well-spent dollas

Why should I bother? In May, Steve Earle released a tribute album, Townes, with 15 songs written by his late friend and mentor Townes Van Zandt. The singer-songwriter has penned tunes ranging from the rockabilly, bluegrass, folk, country to the hard rock, making this iconic performance a must-see.

What the dil? 2nd annual Brew at the Zoo

Where do I go? Zoo Atlanta (800 Cherokee Avenue, SE, Atlanta, GA 30315 )

When do I show up? Saturday, 4 - 9 PM

What's it gonna cost me? $35 - $50 depending on advance sale...and whether or not your the DD!

Why should I bother? Become one with the animals while sampling award-winning brews by SweetWater Brewing Company, Terrapin and Atlanta Brewing Company; wine tastings by McWilliams Winery; and live performances by Yacht Rock Revue and Y-O-U.



What the dil? Reynoldstown Wheelbarrow Festival

Where do I go? In the heart of Reynoldstown. While the festival will line the streets from Wylie to Flatshoals to Mauldin, the main stage and center of the festival will be at the intersection of Kirkwood and Flat Shoals.
When do I show up? Saturday, 11 - 11 PM

What's it gonna cost me? Nada, unless you want to indulge in some of the local vendor offerings.

Why should I bother? Let's face it. Atlanta is a great town for summer festivals. Local musicians, international food, art, parades and the glory of a fine summer day.

I love your weekend posts. It really sorts through the zillion activities on offer. And you seem to pick out great events. I'm planning to attend Wheelbarrow fest!
