Can't get too much of a good thing, right? Check out the sushi scoop on Genki's second location opening brought to you by Thrillist Atlanta:

Genki's second ATL location (At The Prado: 5590 Roswell Rd, Ste 100; Sandy Springs; 404.843.8319) plates sushi and Asian-fusion in a zen-ish environment featuring natural wood floors, a boomerang-shaped seating area w/ giant silver bamboo sticks, and three fish tanks, one loaded with jellyfish. The menu expands on the original's, with new additions like the Volcano appetizer (mixed seafood in spicy aioli, topped w/ mozzarella & tobiko sprinkle), and the Snapping Samurai roll: shrimp tempura, cucumber & avocado, topped w/ red snapper, sliced cherry tomato & jalapeno. There're also new bottled beers like Oregon's Session, a flight of four sakes, plus 10 new cocktails like the Bacardi Dragon Berry, mint & lemonade "Intoxicating Dragon" -- stealing Puff's claim to fame, and leaving him with little more than strings, and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff.

Spices Routes: 16 of Atlanta's Indian Resto Gems

Nothing warms me up better than a piping hot curry plate from a local Indian restaurant. Even 4 1/2 years in Indiana (yes, I think Indiana is freeezing during this time of year, and yes that should be a clear indication of how intolerant I am to cold weather) couldn't help my body adjust to blustery fall and winter days.

To avoid elongated spells of hibernation, I seek refuge in local restos and coffee shops offering the perfect medicine to my body's natural rejection to all things chilly. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Tomato Bisque Soup, and... some Naan and Curry please. That is why I love Atlanta Magazine's Spice Routes article. AM sifted through over 40 Atlanta-area Indian restaurants and serves up a whittled down list of 16 gems, each representing the different corners of India. One of several of my favorite ways to stay warm.

Sounds like a deal to us: bring in a gently-used book to Danneman's (for their new lending library) and get a pipin' hot cup of joe for free. Just another way this Old Fourth Ward coffee shop is "building community one cup at a time."

Well said, @SkyBlox. Perusing my personal library now to contribute to the cause.

Alternate to Kings of Leon show on Fri?

This Friday night is a tough night for Atlanta singer/songwriters and bands. I wouldn't want to be performing on the same night Kings of Leon takes the stage at Philips Arena. Although I myself will be bobbing my head to the KOL beat on Friday night, I might have a solid option for those not attending.

Shell out 8 George Washingtons at 8 PM at Smith's Olde Bar and get 4 singer/songwriter's worth of entertainment. So if you are singer/songwriter Jim Hodgson and you are slated to play vs. KOL, what do you do? You poke fun of the unfortunate situation with a YouTube video titled Kings of Leon's Tour Management meeting:

The Coca-Cola Freestyle is the new touch-screen fountain dispenser that has 100+ options. The product has only rolled out in Georgia and California so far. Has anyone tried this bad boy out? What are your thoughts?
