AFOMFT Review: Sheik Burritos N Kabobs

I love, love, love Persian food and when I heard about Sheik, I had to try right away. Sheik is the fusion of Persian and Southwestern style food. Head chef at the resto married the two together after spending his college years at Arizona State and trying his hand at emulating his father's Persian food. After many successful dinner parties and encouragement from friends/family to forge ahead into the restaurant world, Sheik Burritos N Kabobs was born.

I ordered the Camelback (1st photo), chicken breast with rice, shirazi, yogurt, ground walnut and pomegranate sauce with julienned carrots. I ordered the dish "Dog style" (think open burrito. You can also order Persian style (entree wrapped in whole wheat pita), and Southwestern style (wrapped in a flour tortilla, burrito style). The chicken was seasoned so incredibly well, and was very succulent, each piece packed with flavor. All of the other ingredients fused together for a hearty, scrumptious meal that I could not get enough of.

I highly recommend this joint, the staff is super-friendly and eager to please the customers with friendly rapport and delicious grub. I am swooning just thinking of my next meal there.

Jahan, the owner, really put his heart and soul into this place and it comes through in the food!
