Slow Food Atlanta, is putting on an Ice Cream Social, at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market (St. Philip's Cathedral at 2744 Peachtree Road) this Saturday, June 19 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 p.m.

Slow Foodies and ice cream fans alike will have the chance to taste their way through dozens of delicious homemade ice creams from some of Atlanta’s favorite chefs and home cooks.

Tickets are $10 and it has been reported that there are less than 50 tickets left.

Please bring your own spoon or pay $1 for a compostable spoon at the event. Slow Food Atlanta will provide the cups, all compostable or recyclable.

Proceeds benefit the Atlanta Chapter of Slow Food International and the Peachtree Road Farmers Market. Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.

Nothing makes me want to stick my face in a cup of ice-cream more than steamy Atlanta summer days and if you haven't been to the P'tree Road Farmers Market yet, now is your opportunity to sample and peruse local produce, specialty products, foods and the like.
