In 1984, Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month. The third Sunday in July was also named National Ice Cream Day. As if I needed an excuse to indulge in more ice cream, I thought I'd share this gem of a list from DailyCandy outlining 5 mouth-watering artisanal ice-creams (all available for purchase online):
WhiteFace Mint Chip from Adirondack Creamery
Beer Sorbet (yup, you heard right) from Delicieuse. They use San Miguel Dark Lager Beer from the Philippines- place of birth of Delicieuse Inc.'s founder.
Ruby Jewel's Chub Mini Ice Cream sammies.
Chicago's Nice Cream has a Chocolate and Sweet Basil flavor which DC describes as "a mullet in sweet frozen form: solid, luscious chocolate in front, hot and spicy basil out back, awesome all around." awesome.
Silver Moon does alcohol-infused sorbets! This is brilliant and I plan on ordering a four-pack and just carting them around with me on my weekend evenings out. Hello Mango Mimosa!
