Free @postsecret Exhibit through Sat

Photo creds: PostSecret

One of my FAVORITE social experiments, @postsecret has a FREE visual arts exhibit at the Sturgis Library at Kennesaw State University through Saturday. A little background on the PostSecret experiment for those of you who haven't heard about it: Since 2004, a half-million strangers have sent postcards with some sort of a secret (some tragic, some disturbing, some funny, some uplifting) to Frank Warren, the man behind this ongoing community art project.

Click here to get the full story behind how the project came to be. Warren has said of the project in the AJC article “I always knew it would be special and precious for me, if I could create a safe nonjudgmental place where people could share their deepest hopes and fears and private jokes."

I highly suggest if you have not heard of this, that you take the opportunity to check out the exhibit and at the very least the website.

AFOMFT Review: Spice Market's $16 5 Course Lunch

$16 Bento Box with Chicken & Coconut Soup, Market Green Salad with Radishes, Cherry Tomatoes, and Sesame Seed Vinaigrette, Charred Chili Rubbed Beef Skewers w/ Thai Basil
Dipping Sauce, Vietnamese Chicken Curry, Brown Rice and Ice Cream.

$16 Bento Box with Chicken & Coconut Soup, Avocado and Radish Salad with Chinese Mustard and Tempura Onions, Chicken Skewers with Lime Dipping Sauce, Salmon in a Lemongrass, Peanut and Noodle Broth, and Herb Salad, Brown Rice and Sorbet.

Spice Market now offers a $16 five-course lunchtime special called the "Bento Box". The first course involves a delectable Chicken/Coconut Soup which I surreptitiously drained within seconds. Second course involves a choice between two salads and the third a choice between chicken, beef or lamb satay. The main course will derive from a choice between Thai Basil Malaysian chili-sauced Cod, Lemongrass Salmon, or Vietnamese Chicken Curry. All four courses are brought out on a tray with a side of brown or jasmine rice. Finally you cleanse your palette with ice cream or sorbet.

Given the prices on the SM's normal menu, this lunch deal is a steal. I got to sample a variety of foods for a decent price. The decor is also beautiful and the staff is super friendly and eager to please. So Colony Square worker bees and the like, I highly suggest this change-up in the lunchtime line up. This is also an excellent choice for those client lunches that you can charge back to The Man. All in all, a pretty good value!
